I thought it would be a good idea to lay up the skate fins with fiberglass for myself. It’s important to note that my experience with fiberglass to this point is about on level with squeezing solar res into a cracked rail, but for some reason I have this compulsion to reinvent the wheel from time to time. I did some asking around and got a couple pointers that were super helpful. In the end, I got a few sets laid up, but not before using the better part of the weekend destroying the garage and making the neighborhood reek of resin. Now I can say that I’ve done it, but next time I think I’ll leave the glasswork to the glassers.
Thanks to Jason from Hoffman Surfboards, my good friend Isaac and as always the boys at Guru glass shop for all the pointers.
